“It’s now being used as a control tactic. Look it up and STAY WOKE”
Rappers smoke a lot of weed, it’s essentially has become a stigma for most of them. Artist over the years has been more open discussing their use. However, one artist does not want to be passed the blunt. Joey Bada$$ posted on his Instagram story to reveal that he quit smoking weed. According to Joey Bada$$, the rapper has been weed free for two months and a weed. This may have been shocking news for most fans, so he decided to address all of them at once. The rapper stated he quit smoking as a new year revolution and he intended not to smoke weed past 21 yrs. old.
“I feel like smoking is for older people who have worked a long time and are looking to relax. Not for young people who have a lot more to accomplish and can’t afford anything slowing them down from getting to their destination.” He wrote, “I get it through a lot of you think you need it to cope with the stress trust me I been there, But, meditation is much better.”
This statement shows he not against smoking weed, in fact, it really helped him at a certain point in his life. He may enjoy the smoke with his friends, but he decides not to partake until he’s lives in the home of his dreams.
The most interesting part of his explanation is the end. He explains that the weed is genetically modifying people’s DNA.
“Why you think it’s becoming legal everywhere? Not just cause it’s lucrative, but it’s now being used as a control tactic. Look it up and “STAY WOKE”.”
We decided to look it up….
Joey Bada$$ could be speaking of the genetically modified marijuana or GMO. This means that large corporations monopolize the weed industry. Corporations have now discovered a new way to gain a large income from this industry. Therefore, the laws and views of weed have changed because companies have found a way to capitalize on it. Agricultural giants like Monsanto are creating a secret seed in which they keep in an underground deep-frozen bunker.
All of this may be up for speculation, it does spark a valid question; why have the government become so lenient on weed and weed-related products? Money is always a great motivator and Joey may be on to something. Now there are no sources of it being a control tactic statement, maybe he knows something we don’t. I guess we’ll have to find out on the next album.
