What’s your background?
My family comes from Ghana, West Africa.
What separates your brand from other fashion brands?
I hand pick and sew each head wrap. Each head wrap has a story and a name behind it to bring awareness to African culture.
What inspired you to start your cultural head wrap brand?
Since I was young, I’ve always been fascinated by the different colors and patterns. I wanted to be able to help share the beauty of African culture.
What is your favorite part of fashion?
My favorite part of fashion is being able to choose from different styles. I love the uniqueness of fashion. I love how you can express yourself and how different it is around the world.
What culture mainly inspired your fashion sense?
The African Culture as a whole.
Do you have any future plans or goals for Asiedua Creations?
In the future, I would like to broaden my horizons and create clothing to match the head wraps. I would like to make custom tee shirts and even home decor. I would eventually like to create skin and hair care products. I often have so many ideas flooding my head that it’s hard to choose which one to start with.
Do you plan on giving back to any particular communities in your success with Asiedu Creations?
I would actually like to start a foundation that raises money to help build schools in Africa and also helps gives books to children in orphanages.
What was the hardest part of your journey in building Asiedua Creations?
I believe the beginning was the hardest part of this Asiedua journey. For me being 21, working, going to school, and trying to actually build my business it was sometimes hard trying to find the time to sew. It was hard trying to figure out how exactly to market my brand but with the help of brand ambassadors and my support team, I was able to push forth and keep sewing.
Do you have any advice for a young entrepreneur?
Even when the road ahead of you looks rough, don’t give up. Even when it seems like the ones closest to you aren’t supportive and don’t believe in you, don’t give up. Continue to believe in yourself, see the bigger picture ahead of you and follow it
Do you have any future campaigns or events coming up for Asiedua Creations?
We have a photoshoot coming up in March for the seasons 2 collection, if anyone would like to model please feel free to message me
